Cruise Book REPRODUCTION OPTIONS

We offer the following options for reproducing your Cruise Books:

#1 PHOTOCOPY REPRODUCTION - We can produce soft-cover bound copies of your cruise book. These are high quality photocopy reproductions. Each volume is bound with a durable heavy cover stock on which we can have your ship's insignia printed. An example of pricing: A 200 page volume - black and white reproduction with a minimum order of 20 copies would be $40.00 per copy. (That's only $0.20 per page!). Cruise books with color images are higher.

#2 PDF FORMAT - We can turn your cruise book into a PDF file, stored on CD. What is Adobe Acrobat PDF format? --

Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) is the open de facto standard for electronic document distribution worldwide. Adobe PDF is a universal file format that preserves all the fonts, formatting, graphics, and color of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. Adobe PDF files are compact and can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed exactly as intended by anyone with FREE Adobe Acrobat® Reader® software.

With your cruise book in PDF format on your computer you can do text searches for names and places and instantly be taken directly to the page you are looking for. PDF pages also print out on most modern computers and printers in quality that rivals the original book.

Each page of your cruise book is scanned and processed with OCR (optical-character-recognition). The text files are then proofed for corrections and the page is processed into PDF format. The finished product is provided to you on CD.

#3 HTML FORMAT - Your Cruise Book can be made ready to put on the internet. This again involves scanning or photographing the pages. Next we OCR the text and proof it. From these we produce pages for internet display that closely reflect the page layouts in your Cruise Book.

The finished product is provided to you on CD. It can be directly uploaded to your website or distributed to members on CD for viewing on offline personal computers.

NOW HEAR THIS!…NOW HEAR THIS!

Video Documentary of Your US Navy Cruise Book

Let Heritage Archives take your US Navy Ship's Cruise Book and make a documentary video – after the style of a Ken Burns PBS Documentary…complete with a great musical soundtrack and ship sound effects.

Your children and grandchidren will see what life was like on board your ship!

Cruise Book Videos are both entertaining and of great historical value for your family.

Here’s how the VIDEO offer works:

• You obtain a Ship’s Cruise Book (your own or from one of your ship's association members).

• Get at least 20 shipmates who will commit to ordering a copy of the video. Or, you can commit to creating the videos for gifts to friends and family.

• FedEx your Cruise Book (insured) to Heritage Archives with a minimum order for 20 videos at $25.00 each. A personal history video for LESS THAN popcorn and a movie for two!

(Orders of 50 or more reduce the price to $20.00 each.)
The only additional cost would a minimal be shipping and handling fee.

• Your Cruise Book will be returned one week after the date we receive it. We know the value of these "one-of-a-kind" Navy Cruise Books. We will treat them and watch over them as the valuable items they are.

• Your videos will be shipped to you one to two weeks later.

Videos are created using photos from the pages of the cruise book.

Each video is 15 to 20 minutes (or longer) depending on the size of the cruise book.

We guarantee every video is professionally made with creative and entertaining touches making them enjoyable and educational for your family for years to come.

Your Cruise Book Video will show your family –just a LITTLE about what it was like to live on board your ship in the US Navy!
